Each child is a unique individual whom I want to provide a caring, safe, and stimulating environment in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. I believe that each child who comes to me has already emerged in their home culture and that their family is their first teacher. It is my goal as an educator to provide scaffolding and real-life experiences. I want to provide a space where they are naturally curious to explore their environment. I want to create critical thinkers and guide them to be socially, emotionally, and physically prepared to be a part of a larger community and reach their maximum potential. I believe it is important for self-discovery and having the opportunity to explore things that are meaningful and relevant to each child’s life and interests. I want to be a resource to inspire each child to help guide them to be successful in life by providing exploration in the following: math/music, nature(science), literacy, community/global awareness, and nutrition all while remembering to honor the whole child (self-worth).
