Seattle Preschool Program – Half Day
Energetic, enthusiastic, and curious, our preschoolers are between the ages of three and five years old and are ready to follow a traditional school year calendar from September to June. We have two half-day pods, one located at Queen Anne and one at Fremont, each consisting of two classrooms with two primary educators. Our program runs 6 hours a day from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and aligns with the school district calendar, closing during winter, mid-winter, spring, and summer breaks.
In our half-day pods, children are establishing self-confidence and developing positive attitudes toward learning. Our educators serve as catalysts, encouraging extended learning opportunities and guiding children to enjoy the learning process. We believe that children need experiences where they can both succeed and be challenged.
Our emergent curriculum addresses learning in all developmental areas. Cognitive growth, which enhances intellectual development, is woven into our daily activities in language, math, science, and critical thinking skills. Social development helps children build lasting friendships and refine social behaviors, while emotional growth lays the foundation for self-confidence and socialization skills.
In this nurturing space, our children are entrusted to make their own choices and are encouraged to pursue critical thinking and engage in complex play opportunities. Educators enhance these opportunities through carefully selected provocations, meaningful conversations, and a variety of resources and tools. They facilitate investigations, problem-solving, and imaginative and creative play, ensuring that each child can explore and learn in a supportive and stimulating environment.
At Hilltop Children’s Center, we are dedicated to nurturing the inquisitive and energetic minds of our preschoolers. Our half-day program provides a rich and engaging learning environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive during their early years of education.
