Hilltop is closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Day. While Thanksgiving has traditionally been celebrated as a time of gratitude and gathering, it is also a complex day that holds different meanings for Indigenous communities. We recognize that this holiday marks a history of displacement, colonization, and harm to Native peoples. By also honoring Native American Heritage Day, we aim to center reflection, education, and respect for the Indigenous cultures, lands, and contributions that continue to shape our communities. We encourage families to use this extended time to rest, gather meaningfully, and deepen understanding of Native histories and perspectives.
