My name is Brandy, and teaching is my passion. Since a very young age, I have known that I wanted to teach. I am ready and prepared for my next amazing adventure here at Hilltop. Every day is a new, fun and exciting adventure! I was born and raised in Louisiana. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. I have taught for 14 years prior to moving to Seattle last summer. My last 11 years were spent in High School. I have also taught middle/junior high school for 3 years. Last summer I worked with the Camps for Curious Minds at the Pacific Science Center. I spent the last year working with Pre-K students with another organization in Seattle. Beyond the classroom, I am a Mom to an amazing 20-year-old son. My hobbies are hiking, visiting National Parks, cooking, baking and pretty much anything to do with science! I’m looking forward to an amazing year and joining the Hilltop family.
Hi Hilltop! I am originally from Chicago; I am excited to be exploring my new neighborhood in Seattle. I have spent the last few years working with children of all ages in recreation, education, fitness, and rehabilitation roles where I have seen first-hand how capable kids can be. I truly believe in the power of play, exploration, and creativity for young (and not so young) learners, and it is my goal to contribute to the developmental journey of Hilltop’s students. In my free time, I enjoy connecting with nature, exercising, reading, playing guitar, and drawing.
